We don’t want to miss anything here along the coast, so visiting two towns in one day should help make sure we check all the boxes.
After another lovely ferry ride, we hopped off in Cetara and walked around this small little gem. Because it doesn’t have as much tourist traffic as Positano or Amalfi, the beach chairs were really reasonable. We couldn’t resist trying them out and each rented a chair. The next few hours were spent relaxing in the sun and taking refreshing little dips in the beautiful clear water. The tower was adjacent to the beach, the closest we’ve been to the many old lookout or defense towers that line the coast.
A stroll down the main street in town and that’s all it really took to appreciate the often passed-over town of Cetara. One of the best little moments was walking up the street and being blown away by the sweetest smell of strawberries before the truck, loaded with them, even passed us by.
We had dried off in the bright sun and decided it was a good time to move on to Maiori. This town boasts the biggest stretch of beach on the Amalfi Coast, and it didn’t disappoint. Before we hit the beach we stopped for lunch at La Vela. It didn’t have the best reviews but it was delicious! I think when you’re on the coast you can’t go wrong with seafood pasta. We saw someone get served a huge lobster on a trolley and it was cut and passed out tableside. Next time…
Lastly, here is another stunning shot of sundown as we cruised back home to Salerno.
